Product Overview

MSI Avalon Bay Splitface Marble Ledgestone Corners provide authentic wrapped transitions for Avalon Bay loose-stone veneer installations. Each natural-marble corner piece is formed with two returns, allowing the dark-gray ledgestone pattern to continue around columns, fireplace projections, outdoor kitchens, façades, pillars and other 90-degree outside corners.

The corner stones coordinate with Avalon Bay flat ledgestone veneer, combining bold charcoal and dark-gray coloration with occasional brown mineral highlights. Their irregular lengths, natural splitface texture and variable depths create the appearance of full-bed masonry rather than veneer ending at a visible cut edge.

This listing represents one full crate covering approximately 50 square feet, not one individual corner stone.

Recommended Applications

  • Building façades: Provides finished transitions around projecting walls, entries and exterior architectural details.

  • Columns and pillars: Maintains a continuous stone appearance around square or rectangular structures.

  • Fireplace projections: Wraps the outside edges of chimney breasts and projecting fireplace surrounds.

  • Outdoor kitchens: Finishes barbecue islands, bar structures and outdoor cabinetry bases.

  • Garden walls: Creates natural-looking returns around approved masonry and concrete landscape walls.

  • Commercial installations: Appropriate for hospitality, restaurant, retail and other exterior architectural veneer projects.

Installation Guidelines

⚠️ IMPORTANT: INSTALL CORNERS BEFORE FLAT VENEER

Establish and blend the corner stones first. Then fit the coordinating Avalon Bay flat veneer into the corner returns.

  • Alternate returns: Reverse the long and short returns as the installation progresses to avoid continuous vertical seams.

  • Substrate: Install over an approved concrete, masonry or code-compliant framed-wall stone-veneer assembly.

  • Exterior wall system: Framed exterior walls commonly require a weather-resistant barrier, flashing, drainage system, metal lath and properly cured scratch coat.

  • Mortar selection: Use a premium mortar specifically approved for adhered natural-stone veneer and the installation environment.

  • Mortar contact: Apply mortar to the prepared substrate and back of each stone as required. Fully support each corner without large voids.

  • Stone blending: Open and blend material throughout the crate to distribute charcoal, gray and brown-highlighted pieces naturally.

  • Joint design: The random corner pieces may be installed with tight or visible mortar joints depending on the approved system and intended design.

  • Integration with flats: Cut and fit SKU LVENMAVABAYLED flat veneer into the established corner courses.

  • Exterior detailing: Include proper flashing, weeps, drainage, terminations and movement accommodation to prevent trapped moisture.

  • Height and weight: Tall columns, façades and overhead installations may require engineering or mechanical support.

  • Wet cutting: Use a suitable diamond blade with wet-cutting methods. Do not dry-cut or grind because marble fabrication releases hazardous crystalline-silica dust.

  • Order allowance: Add approximately 10–15% for fitting, breakage, blending and future repairs.

Quantity and Coverage Guidance

The manufacturer packages these random corner veneers by square feet of exposed stone surface, not by a published linear-foot quantity.

  • One crate covers approximately 50 sq. ft.

  • Do not advertise one crate as “one corner piece.”

  • Do not convert 50 sq. ft. into linear feet without MSI’s current return-size and packaging information.

  • Have the installer calculate the exposed surface assigned to corner stones, add 10–15%, and round up to full 50-square-foot crates.

Care and Maintenance

  • Remove dust with a soft-bristle brush or vacuum attachment.

  • Clean with warm water and a neutral-pH natural-stone cleaner.

  • Avoid vinegar, acidic masonry cleaners, harsh bleach solutions and wire brushes.

  • Consider a breathable penetrating sealer for exterior, wet or grease-prone locations.

  • Test sealers first because enhancing formulas may deepen the charcoal coloration.

  • Inspect exterior installations periodically for loose pieces, open joints, failed flashing or moisture intrusion.

Design Profile

  • Aesthetic: Modern lodge, mountain contemporary, organic architecture and refined rustic.

  • Color character: Dark gray and charcoal with occasional warm-brown highlights.

  • Visual advantage: L-shaped stones conceal exposed cut edges and maintain the illusion of full-depth masonry.

  • Complementary materials: Natural oak, dark walnut, concrete, blackened steel and warm plaster.

  • Complementary metals: Matte black, gunmetal, aged bronze and brushed stainless steel.

  • Lighting recommendation: Grazing light emphasizes the dimensional splitface texture.
