Product Overview
Pearla Subway Tile 2" x 6" Glass Tile brings luminous, iridescent shimmer and modern elegance to interior wall applications. Featuring a classic subway brick profile scaled to a compact 2" x 6" proportion, each glass tile reflects ambient light with a soft, mother-of-pearl (pearla) sheen that adds subtle depth and luxury to kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces.
The smooth, non-porous glass surface is hygienic, easy to wipe clean, and immune to water absorption and staining. Whether installed in a traditional offset running bond, contemporary vertical stack, or dynamic 45° herringbone pattern, Pearla glass subway tile creates an airy, light-reflecting focal point across residential and commercial interiors.

Installation and Handling Guidelines
⚠️ IMPORTANT: GLASS TILE INSTALLATION PROTOCOL
-
Mortar Selection: Always set glass tile using a high-performance, polymer-modified bright white thin-set mortar specifically rated for glass tile installations (ANSI A118.11 / ANSI A118.15). Gray or standard mortars will shadow through translucent glass and ruin its bright pearlescent color.
-
100% Mortar Coverage: Use a notched trowel and flatten notch ridges using the flat side of the trowel before setting tiles. Ensure 100% full mortar coverage behind every tile to eliminate visible trowel lines and air bubbles through the glass.
-
Cutting Glass Tile: Cut tile using a wet saw equipped with a continuous-rim diamond blade specifically manufactured for glass tile to prevent edge chipping. Smooth cut edges with a diamond hand pad if necessary.
-
Grout Joint & Color: Maintain a 1/16" to 1/8" grout joint. Select a non-sanded grout or high-performance urethane/epoxy grout designed for glass tiles to avoid scratching the glossy pearlescent face during grouting.
Care and Maintenance
-
Routine Cleaning: Clean easily using warm water and a neutral pH glass or household spray cleaner using a soft microfiber cloth.
-
Stain & Moisture Immunity: Non-porous glass body has zero water absorption (< 0.0%), making it completely immune to kitchen oils, food splatters, and water stains.
-
Zero Sealing Required: Glass tile is inherently non-porous and never requires topical sealers or impregnators.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Pearla 2x6 glass subway tile require sealing?
No. Glass tile is completely non-porous and stain-proof, so the tile face never requires sealing. Only cementitious grout joints between tiles may require sealing if used.
Can Pearla glass tile be used on shower floors?
No. This 2" x 6" glass tile is designed specifically for vertical wall applications. Glass tiles can become slippery when wet underfoot and are not recommended for floor traffic.
Why is white glass-grade thinset required for installation?
Because glass tile is slightly translucent, dark or gray thinset mortars will show through the tile body, permanently dulling its bright pearlescent white color.
