Mortar Selection: Always set glass tile using a high-performance, polymer-modified bright white thin-set mortar specifically rated for glass tile installations (ANSI A118.11 / ANSI A118.15). Gray or standard mortars will shadow through translucent glass and ruin its bright pearlescent color.

100% Mortar Coverage: Use a notched trowel and flatten notch ridges using the flat side of the trowel before setting tiles. Ensure 100% full mortar coverage behind every tile to eliminate visible trowel lines and air bubbles through the glass.

Cutting Glass Tile: Cut tile using a wet saw equipped with a continuous-rim diamond blade specifically manufactured for glass tile to prevent edge chipping. Smooth cut edges with a diamond hand pad if necessary.

Does Pearla 2x6 glass subway tile require sealing?
No. Glass tile is completely non-porous and stain-proof, so the tile face never requires sealing. Only cementitious grout joints between tiles may require sealing if used.
Can Pearla glass tile be used on shower floors?
No. This 2" x 6" glass tile is designed specifically for vertical wall applications. Glass tiles can become slippery when wet underfoot and are not recommended for floor traffic.
Why is white glass-grade thinset required for installation?
Because glass tile is slightly translucent, dark or gray thinset mortars will show through the tile body, permanently dulling its bright pearlescent white color.
