Product Overview
Fujiwa Cresta Series 4" x 4" Porcelain Pool Tile in Blush brings a warm, Mediterranean sunset aesthetic, soft rosy earth tones, and high-performance aquatic durability to swimming pools, spas, and outdoor water features. Part of Fujiwa’s acclaimed Cresta Collection, this 4" x 4" square tile features a gentle, multi-tonal blush glaze with subtle variations that reflect water and sunlight with a natural, stone-like warmth.
Engineered specifically for continuous submersion, Cresta Blush is manufactured from an impervious porcelain body (water absorption rate $\le 0.5\%$). It easily withstands aggressive pool chemicals, salt-chlorine generators, continuous UV exposure, and severe freeze-thaw winter cycles without fading, cracking, or degrading over time.
Recommended Applications
-
Swimming Pool Waterlines & Steps: Frames the perimeter with a soft, warm blush tone that creates a striking, warm contrast against turquoise or sky-blue pool water.
-
Spas, Hot Tubs & Raised Spillways: Engineered to handle elevated temperatures, continuous water movement, and intense chemical sanitization.
-
Fountains & Outdoor Feature Walls: Adds Old-World European or Southwestern warmth to courtyard fountains, patio water walls, and outdoor kitchen backsplashes.
Design Profile
-
Aesthetic Inspiration: Tuscan Villa, Mediterranean Sunset, Desert Modernism, Coastal Hacienda.
-
Visual Advantage: The warm Blush tones soften harsh sunlight and give pool water a luminous, warm lagoon hue that pairs effortlessly with natural stone coping.
-
Complementary Finishes: Pairs beautifully with tan or beige travertine coping, warm flagstone decking, white or ivory pool plaster, and warm bronze or brass outdoor fixtures.
Colors and textures may vary slightly between tile batches due to natural manufacturing variations. For a clear representation, we recommend ordering a sample.

Installation and Handling Guidelines
⚠️ IMPORTANT: SUBMERGED AQUATIC TILE INSTALLATION PROTOCOL
-
Submerged Setting Mortar: Always set pool tiles using a high-performance, polymer-modified thin-set mortar specifically rated for continuous submerged water immersion (ANSI A118.4 / ANSI A118.15).
-
Pool-Grade Grout Selection: Use a high-performance, stain-resistant pool grout or 100% solid epoxy grout (ANSI A118.3) to maximize joint longevity against pool chemicals and algae treatments.
-
Curing Time Requirements: Allow the thin-set mortar and grout to fully cure (typically 7 to 21 days depending on mortar manufacturer and climate) before filling the pool with water.
-
Substrate Waterproofing: Ensure the underlying pool shell substrate (shotcrete/gunite) is fully cured, clean, and treated with a flexible waterproofing membrane rated for submerged applications.
Care and Maintenance
-
Chemical Balance Maintenance: Maintain balanced pool chemistry (pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, and sanitizer levels) to prevent mineral scaling or scum accumulation on the waterline.
-
Routine Cleaning: Wash periodically using a soft nylon brush and a neutral, pool-safe tile cleaner. Avoid harsh wire brushes or steel wool that could scratch the glazed surface.
-
Scale Removal: Remove calcium or hard water deposits with a mild, pool-safe descaling solution formulated for glazed porcelain tile.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Fujiwa Cresta Series Blush tile frost-proof for cold climates?
Yes. Fujiwa Cresta porcelain tiles have an impervious water absorption rate ($\le 0.5\%$), making them completely frost-proof and resistant to freeze-thaw damage in cold winter regions.
Can 4" x 4" tile be used on pool steps and sun shelves?
Yes. The classic 4" x 4" format allows for easy installation along step edges, sun shelf margins, and benches, offering high edge visibility for swimmer safety.
Why is polymer-modified thinset required for pool tile installation?
Submerged pool tiles endure continuous hydraulic pressure, thermal expansion, and chemical exposure. Standard indoor tile mortars break down underwater over time, so polymer-modified mortars rated for submerged use (ANSI A118.4/A118.15) are essential.
