Product Overview

MSI Bedford FieldStone Splitface Marble Veneer Corners provide authentic wrapped transitions for Bedford FieldStone loose-veneer installations. Crafted from genuine natural marble, the random L-shaped corner pieces combine warm brown, taupe and layered gray tones with a rugged splitface texture.

Unlike modular ledger panels, Bedford FieldStone uses irregular loose stones that recreate the character of traditional hand-laid masonry. The corner pieces allow this organic pattern to continue around columns, exterior façades, fireplace projections, outdoor kitchens, pillars and garden-wall returns without exposing flat saw-cut edges.

This listing represents one full crate covering approximately 50 square feet of exposed corner-veneer surface.

Recommended Applications

  • Exterior façades: Finishes outside building corners while maintaining a continuous hand-laid fieldstone appearance.

  • Columns and pillars: Wraps square and rectangular architectural structures without exposed cut edges.

  • Fireplace projections: Creates natural transitions around projecting fireplace surrounds and chimney breasts.

  • Outdoor kitchens: Finishes barbecue islands, bar structures and outdoor entertainment areas.

  • Garden walls: Provides authentic stone returns over structurally sound concrete or masonry walls.

  • Interior feature walls: Suitable for approved residential and commercial accent walls, entries and hospitality installations.

  • Backsplash corners: MSI lists Bedford FieldStone for indoor and outdoor walls and backsplashes.

Installation Guidelines

⚠️ IMPORTANT: INSTALL CORNERS BEFORE FLAT STONES

Establish the outside corners first, then fit the coordinating Bedford FieldStone flat veneer into the corner returns.

  • Alternate returns: Reverse long and short returns throughout the installation to prevent continuous vertical seams.

  • Substrate preparation: Install over an approved concrete, masonry or code-compliant framed-wall veneer system.

  • Exterior framed walls: Provide the required weather-resistant barrier, flashing, drainage plane, metal lath and properly cured scratch coat.

  • Mortar selection: Use a premium mortar specifically formulated for adhered natural-stone veneer and the installation environment.

  • Mortar contact: Apply mortar to the prepared substrate and back of each stone as required. Completely support each corner piece without substantial voids.

  • Blend before setting: Pull pieces from throughout the crate to distribute brown, gray, taupe and darker stones evenly.

  • Joint design: Bedford FieldStone may be installed with visible mortar joints or tighter joints depending on the approved system and desired masonry appearance.

  • Integrate matching flats: Use Bedford FieldStone flat veneer, SKU LVENMBEDFORFLD, between the established corner courses.

  • Exterior drainage: Include flashing, weeps, terminations and movement accommodation to prevent trapped water behind the veneer.

  • Fireplace installation: Follow fireplace-manufacturer clearances and local building codes. Do not use the corner veneer as a horizontal hearth surface.

  • Height and weight: Tall façades, columns and overhead installations may require engineering or mechanical support.

  • Wet cutting: Use wet-cutting methods and a suitable diamond blade. MSI warns against dry cutting because of hazardous crystalline-silica dust.

  • Order allowance: Add approximately 10–15% for fitting, breakage, stone blending and future repairs.

Quantity and Coverage Guidance

MSI packages these random corner stones by square feet of exposed veneer surface, not by a published linear-foot quantity.

  • One crate covers approximately 50 sq. ft.

  • One crate costs $1,395 at the current $27.90-per-square-foot price.

  • Do not describe the crate as one individual corner piece.

  • Do not publish a linear-foot conversion unless MSI supplies one for the current production lot.

  • Have the installer calculate the exposed corner surface, add 10–15%, and round up to full crates.

Care and Maintenance

  • Remove dust with a soft-bristle brush or vacuum attachment.

  • Clean using warm water and a neutral-pH natural-stone cleaner.

  • Avoid vinegar, acidic masonry cleaners, harsh bleach solutions and wire brushes.

  • Consider a breathable penetrating sealer for exterior, moisture-prone or grease-prone installations.

  • Test sealers first because enhancing products can deepen the brown and gray tones.

  • Inspect exterior installations periodically for loose stones, open joints, failed flashing and moisture intrusion.

Design Profile

  • Aesthetic: Traditional masonry, modern lodge, organic contemporary and refined rustic.

  • Color character: Warm brown and taupe blended with medium gray and occasional charcoal.

  • Shape character: Irregular fieldstone forms create a softer, more organic composition than linear ledgestone.

  • Visual advantage: L-shaped corners preserve the appearance of full-depth masonry around wall returns and columns.

  • Complementary materials: Natural oak, walnut, weathered timber, concrete, leather and warm stucco.

  • Complementary metals: Aged bronze, matte black, weathered steel and brushed stainless steel.

  • Mortar color: Warm gray, taupe or buff produces a traditional masonry appearance.
