Installation & Handling Guidelines
⚠️ CRITICAL WARNING: CERAMIC WALL MORTAR PROTOCOL
-
Thinset Mortar Selection: Install using a standard polymer-modified thinset specified for ceramic wall tile (such as MAPEI® Ultraflex 2 or LATICRETE® Tri-Lite).
-
Mortar Coverage: Apply mortar evenly along the substrate edge and back-butter the trim piece to guarantee solid contact along the full 12-inch length.
-
Grout Joint Alignment: Align the quarter round pieces flush with adjacent field tiles (such as Renzo Jade 3x12, 2x10, or 5x5 tiles) to maintain a continuous, uniform grout line.
Professional Recommendations
-
Grout Selection: Pair with a non-sanded grout or fine acrylic grout in "Bright White", "Soft Gray", or "Sage" to prevent scratching the high-gloss glaze during cleanup.
-
Mitering Corners: When wrapping 90-degree outside corners or framing niches, cut miter joints at a 45-degree angle using a diamond-blade wet saw.
Care & Maintenance
-
Routine Cleaning: Wipe down easily using water and a pH-neutral household tile cleaner.
-
Stain Resistance: Glazed ceramic surface resists water, soap scum, household stains, and grease splatters.
-
Zero Sealing Required: Non-porous glazed ceramic body requires no topical sealers or impregnators over its lifespan.
Design Profile
-
Aesthetic Inspiration: Artisan Zellige, Organic Modern, Coastal Cottage, and Tranquil Spa Interiors.
-
Field Tile Matching: Perfectly color-matched to pair with MSI Renzo Jade field tiles (3x12 subway, 2x10 subway, and 5x5 square tiles).
-
Complementary Accents: Brushed brass or champagne bronze fixtures, natural oak cabinetry, and warm white or cream countertops.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the primary function of a quarter round tile trim?
A quarter round (or corner round) is a curved trim molding used to hide raw, unglazed tile edges along wall borders, turn outside corners, or create a smooth transition where tiled walls meet drywall or recessed niches.
Does MSI Renzo Jade Quarter Round require sealing?
No. The ceramic trim features a protective vitreous glaze that makes it completely non-porous and stain-resistant. Sealing is not required.
Can this quarter round trim be used on shower walls?
Yes! MSI Renzo Jade Quarter Round is fully rated for interior wet wall applications, including shower surrounds, tub aprons, and shower niche borders.
Is the color exact across the entire Renzo Jade collection?
The Renzo Jade series features a V2 shade variation designed to emulate artisan hand-crafted tile. Subtle tone and depth variations between field tiles and trim pieces are intentional, contributing to its organic, handcrafted character.

It’s hard to evaluate something that never arrived. On June 29th over two weeks after the order was placed I was notified that it was not delivered and that I needed to pick it up at the UPS warehouse by June 26. Oops, then I received an email stating it was going to be delivered by FedEx. When I called to determine who was delivering and where my package was the poor man on the other end of the line was totally confused. I’m still waiting.
We have not gotten the tiles and have not been contacted by a delivery carrier to arrange delivery. Will be calling Visa next week for an investigation
