⚠️ IMPORTANT: HEAVY NATURAL-STONE WALL INSTALLATION

Ledger panels are significantly heavier and more dimensional than conventional ceramic wall tile. Substrate strength, mortar coverage, waterproofing, and exterior detailing must be evaluated before installation.

• Approved Substrate: Install over clean, flat, structurally sound concrete, masonry, or properly secured cementitious backer board. Do not install directly over painted drywall in heavy, wet, exterior, or high-heat applications.

• Mortar Selection: Use a polymer-modified Large and Heavy Tile mortar meeting ANSI A118.4 or A118.15 and approved for natural quartzite.

• Mortar Coverage: Directionally trowel the mortar and back-butter each panel. Achieve substantially complete coverage, particularly around fireplaces, in wet locations, and on exterior walls.

• Grout-Free Installation: Butt the panels tightly together without conventional grout joints. Remove mortar from the panel faces and joints before it hardens.

• Joint Staggering: Offset panel joints between courses and avoid aligning vertical seams. Test-fit adjoining pieces before applying mortar.

• Corner Treatment: Use matching Coal Canyon corner panels, sold separately, to wrap outside corners without exposed saw-cut edges.

• Interior Cuts: Place cut edges against adjoining walls, ceilings, trim, or corners whenever possible.

• Exterior Installation: Include proper flashing, drainage, waterproofing, movement accommodation, and freeze-thaw-rated setting materials. Tall façades may require engineered or mechanically supported veneer systems.

• Fireplace Installation: Quartzite is natural stone, but the complete fireplace assembly must comply with the fireplace manufacturer’s required clearances and local building codes.

• Cutting Safety: Wet-cut only with a suitable diamond blade. Do not dry-cut or grind because airborne crystalline silica can cause serious respiratory harm.
