Product Overview

Premium Deep-Vein Lilac White 12" × 24" Turkish Marble Tile is a specially selected natural stone distinguished by its crisp crystalline-white background and expressive violet, plum, gray and charcoal veining. Also known as Milas Lilac marble, the stone is quarried in the Milas region of Muğla, Turkey.

This premium selection emphasizes pieces with deeper, more dramatic purple-vein concentration, producing an artistic, high-contrast surface across bathrooms, shower walls, feature walls, floors, backsplashes and fireplace surrounds. The elongated 12" × 24" format provides enough surface area for the distinctive veining to develop naturally while supporting stacked, offset and vertically oriented layouts.

“Premium Deep-Vein” should be presented as a Hey Tiles selection grade, not a universal marble-industry classification.

Recommended Applications

  • Luxury shower walls: Creates a dramatic slab-inspired appearance when the tiles are dry-laid to coordinate vein movement.

  • Bathroom floors: The honed finish is generally preferable where additional traction is desired.

  • Vanity walls: Provides a high-contrast artistic background behind mirrors, floating vanities and decorative lighting.

  • Kitchen backsplashes: Introduces distinctive violet veining behind ranges, sinks and countertops.

  • Fireplace surrounds: Creates a sculptural focal point when installed within required fireplace clearances.

  • Feature walls: Suitable for entries, living spaces, boutiques, reception areas and hospitality interiors.

  • Residential floors: Appropriate for suitably designed, maintained and sealed interior floors.

  • Shower-floor caution: The 12" × 24" format is generally unsuitable for conventional shower floors because it cannot easily follow the required multidirectional slope. Polished marble may also become slippery when wet.

Installation Guidelines

⚠️ IMPORTANT: WHITE MARBLE AND VEIN-SELECTION PROTOCOL

Lilac White combines a translucent white background with bold, unpredictable veins. Dry-laying, white mortar and careful sheet selection are essential.

  • Dry-lay the complete area: Arrange tiles before setting them to balance deep-violet pieces, lighter tiles and charcoal-veined sections.

  • Do not promise uniform veining: “Premium Deep-Vein” indicates a more dramatic selection, but every tile will not contain the same amount or pattern of purple.

  • White mortar required: Use a premium white polymer-modified Large and Heavy Tile mortar approved for natural marble. Gray mortar may shadow through or discolor the white stone.

  • Check the tile backing: If the marble contains resin treatment or mesh reinforcement, confirm mortar compatibility before installation. An epoxy setting material may be required for some resin-backed stone.

  • Mortar coverage: Directionally trowel and back-butter as necessary. Obtain at least 95% coverage in wet installations.

  • Pre-sealing: Apply a penetrating natural-stone sealer before grouting, particularly on honed material. Test the sealer first.

  • Grout selection: Use unsanded grout or a fine-aggregate grout explicitly approved for polished natural stone. Test it on spare material to ensure it does not scratch or stain the marble.

  • Grout joint: Approximately 1/16"–1/8" may be appropriate depending on dimensional consistency, substrate conditions and installer requirements.

  • Waterproofing: Install shower applications over a complete approved waterproofing system. Marble sealer does not waterproof the wall assembly.

  • Movement accommodation: Include perimeter and field movement joints following TCNA EJ171 and applicable construction requirements.

  • Cutting: Wet-cut with a clean continuous-rim diamond blade designed for marble. Do not dry-cut or grind.

  • Order allowance: Add 10–15% for straight installations and 15–20% for selective vein layouts, diagonals or complex cuts.

Care and Maintenance

  • Clean with warm water and a neutral-pH natural-stone cleaner.

  • Avoid vinegar, lemon, acidic bathroom cleaners, abrasive powders and harsh bleach solutions.

  • Wipe cosmetic products, oils, wine, citrus and strongly pigmented spills promptly.

  • Use microfiber cloths, soft sponges and non-abrasive brushes.

  • Reseal periodically based on use, exposure and sealer-manufacturer instructions.

  • Expect polished marble to develop a natural patina in frequently used areas.

Design Profile

  • Aesthetic inspiration: Contemporary Italianate luxury, modern Art Deco, gallery minimalism and expressive natural stone.

  • Color character: Cool crystalline white interrupted by vivid violet, plum and charcoal lines.

  • Visual advantage: Deep, irregular veins allow each tile to function like an individual piece of abstract artwork.

  • Layout options: Straight stacked, vertical stacked, one-third offset and carefully planned vein-flow arrangements.

  • Complementary materials: Thassos White marble, white oak, dark walnut, black lacquer and creamy quartz.

  • Complementary metals: Polished nickel, chrome, champagne bronze, brushed brass and matte black.

  • Suggested grout colors: Bright white minimizes joint visibility; pale cool gray subtly defines the 12" × 24" format.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Lilac White genuine natural marble?

Yes. It is genuine Turkish marble quarried in the Milas region and known for its white crystalline background and purple veining.

What does “Premium Deep-Vein” mean?

It identifies a Hey Tiles selection emphasizing stronger and more abundant violet veining. It is a visual selection description rather than a standardized geological grade.

Will every tile have deep purple veins?

No. Natural variation remains substantial. Some tiles may display concentrated violet movement, while others may contain more white background or gray and charcoal markings.

Is Lilac White the same as Milas Lilac?

Yes. Milas Lilac is one of the most common trade names for this Turkish marble. It may also be marketed as Turkish Lilac or Violetta.

Does the marble require sealing?

Yes. Seal before grouting and reseal periodically according to the installation environment and sealer instructions.

Can it be installed on shower walls?

Yes. Use white natural-stone mortar over an approved waterproofing system. Sealer does not replace waterproofing.

Can it be used on a shower floor?

The 12" × 24" size is not recommended for conventional shower floors, and the polished finish can be slippery when wet. A smaller honed mosaic is a better choice.
