Is this the same as Pennsylvania Bluestone? "Mountain Bluestone" is an industry name for a very similar high-density sandstone. While it shares the same grey-blue tones, Mountain Bluestone is often more consistent in color than "Full Color" Pennsylvania stone, which can include browns and tans.

Can I install these over sand? While 1" pavers can be dry-laid on sand/gravel for light-traffic walkways, a 1" thicknessis primarily designed for wet-laid (mortar-set) installation over a concrete slab. If you plan to drive over the area or want a dry-lay patio, we recommend the 1.5" or 2" thick versions.

Do these pavers get hot in the sun? One of the benefits of natural bluestone is that it tends to stay cooler than many concrete pavers or darker granites, making it comfortable for bare feet on sunny pool decks.

INSTALLATION & CARE TIPS

• Slope for Drainage: Always ensure your sub-base has a slight pitch (typically 1/8" to 1/4" per foot) sloping away from your home's foundation to prevent water pooling.

• Color Blending: Because this is a natural stone, there will be variation. Open multiple crates at once and "shuffle" the pavers during installation to ensure a balanced distribution of color.

• Cutting: Use a high-quality wet saw with a diamond blade intended for natural stone. Because these are 1" thick, the cuts will be clean and straightforward.

• Sealing: We highly recommend applying a breathable, penetrating sealer. This will protect the blue-grey tones from UV fading and help prevent stains from leaves, wine, or grease.
