Installation Guidelines

⚠️ IMPORTANT: 2 CM PAVER INSTALLATION

The correct base preparation, drainage, joint system, and installation method depend on site conditions and anticipated traffic.

• Installation methods: MSI identifies installation over grass, sand-set systems, or mortar over concrete as appropriate options for Arterra pavers.

• Mortar installation: Use an exterior-rated polymer-modified Large and Heavy Tile mortar compatible with porcelain. Obtain substantially complete mortar coverage beneath every paver.

• Dry installation: Prepare a properly compacted, graded aggregate base with adequate drainage. Do not place pavers directly over loose soil.

• Drainage: Slope exterior surfaces away from buildings and prevent water from collecting beneath or on top of the installation.

• Joint spacing: Do not tightly butt the pavers. Provide joints appropriate for the chosen installation system, dimensional tolerances, and expected movement.

• Movement joints: Include perimeter and field movement accommodation following TCNA EJ171 and applicable building requirements.

• Driveway caution: Vehicular use requires a professionally designed, fully supported installation appropriate for the vehicle loads. A standard sand-set pedestrian system may not be sufficient.

• Lot blending: Open multiple cartons and blend pieces before installation to distribute gold veining and tonal movement evenly.

• Cutting: Wet-cut with a porcelain-rated diamond blade and follow crystalline-silica safety requirements.

• Order allowance: Add approximately 10% for straightforward layouts and 15% for diagonal patterns, complex cuts, or selective vein placement.

Care and Maintenance

• Sweep or rinse regularly to prevent dirt accumulation.

• Clean with warm water and a neutral-pH porcelain cleaner.

• Remove oil, food, leaf, and mineral stains promptly.

• Avoid waxes and topical coatings that could alter the ZeroSlip surface.

• The porcelain paver itself does not require sealing. Jointing material may have separate sealing requirements.

• If pressure washing, use moderate pressure and avoid directing the nozzle closely into joints.

• Inspect exterior installations periodically for drainage problems, joint loss, or movement.
