Is 6x12 too big for a kitchen backsplash? Actually, it’s a major design trend! Using 6x12 tiles on a backsplash creates a "mini-slab" effect that looks very custom and high-end. It works particularly well in kitchens with significant wall space between the counter and cabinets.

Can this be used on a shower floor? While beautiful, a 6x12 tile is generally too large for most sloped shower floors (pans) because it cannot follow the curve to the drain without "lippage." We recommend using the Bianco Dolomite 2" Hexagon for the shower floor and the 6x12 for the shower walls.

What grout color matches best? To keep the "all-white" look, use "Bright White" or "Avalanche." If you want to subtly define the large-format pattern, a very light grey like "Silver" is an excellent choice.

Does it need to be sealed? Yes. Like all natural marble, Bianco Dolomite is porous. It should be sealed with a high-quality penetrating sealer during installation and once a year thereafter to protect against moisture and oils.

INSTALLATION & CARE TIPS

• White Thinset Only: This is critical. You must use a white polymer-modified thinset. Gray mortar will "bleed" through the light marble and turn your white tiles a dull grey color.

• Layout Direction: Consider a vertical stack for a modern, "lofty" feel, or a traditional 50% offset (running bond) for a timeless look.

• Cleaning: Avoid all acidic cleaners (vinegar, lemon, bleach). Use only a pH-neutral stone cleaner to maintain the marble's finish.
