Product Overview
Refin Prestigio Marfil Lucido 30" × 30" Porcelain Tile interprets the warmth and understated movement of classic ivory marble through precision Italian porcelain. Its creamy beige field is enriched with delicate tonal clouds and subtle mineral veining, creating an elegant surface inspired by Crema Marfil and other warm Mediterranean marbles.
The Lucido polished finish intensifies the color and graphic depth while reflecting natural and architectural light. Its balanced 30" × 30" square format creates an expansive, symmetrical layout with fewer grout joints than conventional tiles, making it especially effective across formal living areas, bathroom walls, fireplace surrounds, hospitality spaces, and decorative commercial interiors.
Manufactured in Italy by Ceramiche Refin, Prestigio Marfil combines high-resolution marble graphics with a dense porcelain body, rectified edges, V3 shade variation, and PEI 4 surface-wear performance.

⚠️ POLISHED-SURFACE LIMITATION: Lucido is a glossy finish and does not satisfy common minimum slip-resistance requirements. Use primarily on walls or carefully selected dry, low-traffic residential floors where slip resistance is not required. Avoid shower floors, wet-room floors, ramps, pool surrounds, and entrances directly connected to outdoors.
Recommended Applications
-
Bathroom and Shower Walls: Creates a luminous marble-inspired enclosure with fewer grout lines and straightforward porcelain maintenance.
-
Vanity Backdrops: The polished ivory surface reflects vanity lighting and complements warm or cool metal fixtures.
-
Fireplace Surrounds: Provides the appearance of large polished marble panels without natural stone’s sealing or acid sensitivity.
-
Formal Living and Dining Areas: Suitable for carefully evaluated dry residential floors that are not directly exposed to rain or tracked-in water.
-
Feature Walls: The large square format produces a balanced architectural grid in living rooms, bedrooms, hotel suites, and reception spaces.
-
Kitchen Backsplashes and Walls: Offers warm marble character while resisting common food stains and household splashes.
-
Boutique and Hospitality Walls: Adds light, polish, and visual scale to reception fronts, corridors, elevator walls, and decorative commercial surfaces.
Installation & Handling Guidelines
⚠️ IMPORTANT: LARGE-FORMAT POLISHED PORCELAIN PROTOCOL
-
Inspect Before Installation: Confirm the factory code, dimensions, finish, caliber, shade, and condition before setting. Installed material is generally considered accepted.
-
Dry-Lay and Blend: Prestigio Marfil carries V3 variation. Open several cartons and arrange tiles before installation to balance lighter, darker, and more heavily patterned pieces.
-
Protect the Polished Face: Handle tiles with clean gloves and keep abrasive grit away from the glossy surface. Store cartons vertically only when permitted by the manufacturer.
-
Prepare a Flat Substrate: Large-format tile requires an exceptionally flat, stable surface. Correct dips and high spots before installation.
-
Use LHT Mortar: Install with a polymer-modified Large and Heavy Tile mortar approved for porcelain and the substrate. ANSI A118.4 or A118.15 performance is generally appropriate.
-
White Mortar Recommended: White mortar is preferable beneath the pale Marfil colorway, particularly when light-colored grout will be used.
-
Directional Troweling: Comb mortar in one direction and back-butter the tile. Move the tile perpendicular to the ridges to collapse the mortar and remove trapped air.
-
Achieve Proper Coverage: Obtain at least approximately 80% mortar contact in dry interior areas and 95% in wet vertical installations, with full support beneath edges and corners.
-
Use Lippage-Control Tools: A tile-leveling system can assist with edge alignment but does not replace correct substrate preparation or mortar coverage.
-
Maintain Grout Joints: Rectified tile should not be butt-set. Approximately 1/8" is a practical starting point, subject to tile calibration and project requirements.
-
Include Movement Joints: Provide perimeter and field movement joints according to applicable installation standards.
-
Wet-Cut Only: Use a water-fed saw with a porcelain-rated diamond blade. Protect the polished face from scratching during cutting and handling.
-
Order Extra Material: Allow approximately 10% additional material for straight layouts and 15% or more for diagonal installations or extensive cutting.
Care & Maintenance
-
Clean regularly with warm water and a neutral cleaner formulated for porcelain tile.
-
Use microfiber cloths or nonabrasive pads to preserve the Lucido surface.
-
Avoid abrasive powders, steel wool, scouring pads, or gritty cleaning compounds that can dull the polish.
-
Do not apply natural-stone sealer, wax, polish, or topical coating to the porcelain surface.
-
Remove grout haze promptly with a porcelain-safe product approved for polished finishes.
-
Wipe standing water immediately because the glossy surface can become slippery.
-
Use walk-off mats at entrances and felt pads beneath furniture to reduce surface scratching.
