Product Overview
Florim Rêves Noisette Matte Mosaic 12" x 12" Porcelain Tile (30 cm x 30 cm sheet) is an architectural Italian porcelain mosaic manufactured by Florim (part of the prestigious Rêves de Rex collection). Inspired by rare, translucent alabaster and warm onyx minerals, the Noisette (Hazelnut) colorway features an inviting palette of creamy hazelnut brown, warm amber, honey, and pearl-cream mineral veining arranged in a geometric grid mounted on flexible fiberglass mesh backing.
Finished in Florim’s refined Matte (Mat/Naturale) surface, this 12x12 mosaic sheet provides a velvety, non-reflective tactile feel with reliable wet-foot traction. Increased grout joint density across the 12x12 grid makes it the ideal functional and safety solution for walk-in shower pan floors, steam shower floors, drainage slopes, niche accents, and decorative border trims.
Recommended Applications
-
Walk-In Shower Pans & Steam Room Floors: The combination of Florim’s Matte (Naturale) finish (R10 / DCOF ≥ 0.42) and frequent grout lines provides maximum slip resistance and easily conforms to multi-directional drainage slopes in shower pans.
-
Shower Niches & Feature Accent Bands: Serves as a perfectly matched geometric accent inside shower storage niches or as a vertical/horizontal ribbon running through large-format Rêves Noisette wall slabs (12x24, 24x48, 32x71).
-
Vanity Backsplashes & Powder Rooms: Adds intricate scale and warm mineral depth behind bathroom vanities and sinks without overwhelming compact spaces.
Design Profile
-
Aesthetic Inspiration: Translucent Precious Minerals, Warm Organic Luxury, High-End Spa, Warm Modernism.
-
Visual Pairing: Pairs seamlessly as a floor or accent tile with larger field slabs from the series (Florim Rêves Noisette 12x24, 24x24, 24x48, 32x71), brushed brass, unlacquered bronze, or matte black plumbing fixtures, and rich walnut or warm oak millwork.
-
System Cohesion: Part of the Florim Rêves collection, matching companion field formats, 3x12 Bullnose Trim, and complementary Glossy (Polished) wall finishes.
Colors and textures may vary slightly between tile batches due to natural manufacturing variations. For a clear representation, we recommend ordering a sample.

Installation and Handling Guidelines
⚠️ CRITICAL WARNING: WET-ZONE MOSAIC PROTOCOL
-
Thinset Mortar Selection: Set using a high-performance, polymer-modified thinset specified for porcelain tile and wet areas (ANSI A118.4 or ANSI A118.15 like MAPEI® Ultraflex 2 White or LATICRETE® 254 Platinum White). Always use white thinset to preserve true translucent honey-and-cream color clarity.
-
100% Mortar Coverage in Shower Pans: Ensure 100% thinset coverage underneath each 12x12 sheet to prevent air pockets where moisture could collect underneath shower floors.
-
Grout Selection: Use a high-performance, stain-resistant grout formulated for wet environments (such as MAPEI® Ultracolor Plus FA or LATICRETE® SPECTRALOCK® PRO Premium Epoxy Grout).
Professional Recommendations
-
Dry Lay & Shade Blending: The Rêves Noisette graphic carries fluid onyx veining (V3 rating). Unbox and dry-lay mosaic sheets before final setting to randomize hazelnut, amber, and cream tones evenly across the shower basin.
-
Grout Color Strategy: Pair with a warm taupe, light ivory, or warm beige high-performance grout (such as MAPEI® Ultracolor Plus FA in Biscuit or Warm Gray) to make sheet joints fade into a seamless mosaic field.
Care and Maintenance
-
Routine Cleaning: Clean easily using warm water and a neutral pH porcelain floor cleaner. The non-porous matte surface resists soap scum, water spots, and body oil accumulation in shower stalls.
-
100% Acid & Stain Proof: Impervious vitrified porcelain stoneware (< 0.08% water absorption) protects against cosmetic acids, shampoos, hair dyes, oils, and household cleaning chemicals.
-
Zero Sealing Required: Unlike natural hazelnut onyx, calcite, or marble mosaics, glazed Italian porcelain is non-porous and never requires sealers, topical waxes, or impregnating treatments over its lifespan.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose Florim Rêves Noisette Matte Mosaic over large tiles for shower floors?
Standard large-format tiles (like 12x24 or 24x48) are difficult to pitch toward a central point drain without awkward cuts. The 12x12 mosaic sheet easily articulates to multi-directional floor slopes, while its grid of grout lines delivers superior wet foot traction.
Is Florim Rêves Noisette Matte Mosaic 12x12 suitable for steam showers?
Yes. Impervious vitrified porcelain (< 0.08% water absorption) handles continuous moisture, thermal steam cycles, and standing water without degrading, swelling, or losing bond strength.
Does this warm onyx-look mosaic tile require sealing?
No. Florim porcelain stoneware is fully vitrified and non-porous (< 0.08% absorption), requiring zero sealers or protective coats over its lifespan.
