• Substrate Flatness: Correct high and low areas before installation. Large-format tiles will expose even minor substrate irregularities.

• Mortar Selection: Use a premium polymer-modified Large and Heavy Tile mortar approved for porcelain and the intended substrate.

• Directional Troweling: Comb mortar ridges in one direction and collapse them by moving the tile perpendicular to the ridges.

• Back-Buttering: Apply a thin coat of mortar to the back of each tile. Wet areas require coverage consistent with applicable installation standards and no significant voids.
