Installation and Handling Guidelines

IMPORTANT: V3 GLAZE VARIATION

Open several cartons and arrange the tiles before installation. Blend lighter, darker and more heavily textured pieces throughout the surface.

• Wall-Only Installation: Do not install Terranello Ivory on floors, countertops, exterior walls or pool surfaces.

• Substrate Preparation: Install over a flat, clean and structurally sound wall substrate. Shower installations require a complete waterproofing system.

• Mortar Selection: Use a premium polymer-modified mortar approved for glazed ceramic wall tile and the intended installation environment.

• Wet-Area Setting Material: Do not use ordinary premixed mastic in shower or continuously wet installations unless the adhesive manufacturer expressly approves it for that application.

• Dry-Lay the Tile: Arrange pieces before setting to balance V3 tonal and surface variation.

• Grout Joint: A joint of approximately 1/16" to 1/8" may be considered, depending on actual tile calibration, surface irregularity and installer recommendations.

• Grout Selection: Use grout approved for glossy glazed ceramic. Test strongly pigmented grout before completing the installation.

• Cutting: MSI recommends wet cutting or the score-and-snap method. Do not dry-cut using power tools because improper cutting can release harmful silica dust.

• Edge Finishing: Plan exposed edges before installation. Use coordinating trim, an approved metal profile or a professionally finished tile edge where required.

• Movement Accommodation: Include perimeter and field movement joints in accordance with applicable installation standards.

• Order Allowance: Add approximately 10–15% for cuts, layout selection, breakage and future repairs. Herringbone and complex layouts may require additional material.

Care and Maintenance

• Clean with warm water and a mild neutral-pH tile cleaner.

• Use a soft cloth, microfiber pad or nonabrasive sponge.

• Avoid abrasive powders, metal scrubbers and aggressive cleaning pads that could scratch the glossy glaze.

• Remove soap residue regularly from shower walls.

• Wipe cooking oils and strongly pigmented splashes promptly from backsplash installations.

• The glazed ceramic surface does not normally require sealing.

• Cement-based grout may require sealing according to the grout manufacturer’s instructions.
