Installation and Handling Guidelines

⚠️ IMPORTANT: NATURAL MARBLE PRE-SEALING & MORTAR PROTOCOL

• Pre-Sealing Essential: Calacatta Gold is a porous natural marble. Apply a high-quality penetrating natural stone sealer to the tile sheets prior to grouting to protect against grout haze and pigment absorption.
  
  
• Pure White Thin-Set Mortar Required: Always set Calacatta marble using a high-performance, polymer-modified pure white thin-set mortar (ANSI A118.4). Gray or dark mortars will bleed through translucent light marble and permanently discolor the stone.
  
  
• Dry Laying & Color Blending: Calacatta Gold naturally features varying degrees of golden and gray veining across tiles. Inspect and dry-lay sheets from multiple boxes before setting to achieve an even, balanced distribution of shade and veining.
  
  
• Wet-Area Waterproofing: Shower applications require an approved, code-compliant waterproofing system beneath the tile. Stone, mortar, grout, and sealers do not replace the underlying waterproof membrane.
  
  

Care and Maintenance

• Routine Cleaning: Clean regularly with warm water and a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Avoid vinegar, bleach, ammonia, or acidic bathroom cleaners, which will etch marble surfaces.
  
  
• Periodic Resealing: Reapply a quality penetrating sealer every 1 to 2 years (or as needed in heavy water-exposure areas) to maintain stain and water protection.
