Product Overview
XL Arctic White 9" x 18" Corner Panel is an extra-large, natural stone L-shaped corner piece engineered to deliver seamless 90-degree transitions for stacked stone ledger panel installations. Crafted from genuine Arctic White quartzite, this corner panel features a bright, snow-white field with subtle icy silver undertones and a delicate crystalline sparkle in a natural splitface texture.
Designed as a two-piece stepped "L" corner set (with a long leg and a short leg forming a 9" height profile), it eliminates raw cut edges and exposed vertical seams at outside corners. Scaling up traditional 6-inch ledger corners to an extra-large 9-inch height, it accelerates installation across grand fireplace corners, exterior building columns, and feature wall returns—matching perfectly with standard 9" x 24" XL Arctic White flat ledger panels.
Recommended Applications
-
Two-Story Fireplace Chimneys & Columns: Wraps 90-degree outside corners on grand fireplace surrounds and chimney breasts without exposed saw-cut edges or grout joints.
-
Exterior Building Pillars & Porticos: Creates an authentic, heavy stacked-stone column appearance on home entryways, patio pillars, and retaining wall ends.
-
Commercial Feature Wall Returns: Delivers clean, continuous stone wrapping around reception desk feature walls, hotel lobbies, and elevator banks.
Design Profile
-
Aesthetic Inspiration: Modern Minimalist, Alpine Luxury, Grand Architectural, Scandinavian Clean.
-
Visual Advantage: Wraps corners smoothly without raw saw-cut stone edges, giving outside corners the substantial look of solid, hand-laid masonry blocks.
-
Complementary Finishes: Arctic White XL 9x24 flat ledger panels, light oak or dark walnut millwork, matte black or brushed brass hardware, and concrete or marble flooring.
Colors and textures may vary slightly between tile batches due to natural manufacturing variations. For a clear representation, we recommend ordering a sample.

Installation and Handling Guidelines
⚠️ IMPORTANT: NATURAL STONE LEDGER CORNER INSTALLATION PROTOCOL
-
Install Corners First: Always set your outside corner L-panels first before laying flat ledger panels. Alternate (stagger) long and short legs on every row to prevent vertical alignment seams up the corner.
-
Pure White LFT Thin-Set Mortar Required: Install using a high-performance, polymer-modified Large & Heavy Tile (LFT) pure white thin-set mortar (ANSI A118.4 / ANSI A118.15). White mortar prevents dark shadowing behind translucent white quartzite pieces.
-
Tight-Joint Installation (No Grout): Corner panels are engineered to butt tight against one another and adjacent flat panels without grout lines.
-
Substrate Load Capacity: Ensure concrete, masonry, or cement backer board substrates are structurally rated to support heavy stone loads (approx. 9–11 lbs per sq. ft.).
-
Pre-Sealing: Apply a high-quality penetrating natural stone sealer after installation to protect against dirt accumulation, water absorption, and environmental staining.
Care and Maintenance
-
Routine Cleaning: Dust or vacuum textured stone crevices using a soft brush attachment. Clean periodically with warm water and a neutral pH natural stone cleaner.
-
Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use acidic cleaners, vinegar, bleach, or high-pressure power washers at close range, which can damage natural quartzite surfaces.
-
Periodic Resealing: Reapply a penetrating stone sealer every 2 to 4 years on exterior installations to preserve stain defense and freeze-thaw durability.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why use factory-made corner L-panels instead of miter-cutting flat ledger panels at 45 degrees?
Factory-made L-panels feature finished splitface stone on both outer faces, creating a seamless, natural corner. Miter-cutting flat panels on site leaves raw, untextured saw lines exposed at the corner joint.
How do I stagger the corner L-panels during installation?
Flip the corner pieces on alternating rows (row 1: long leg left; row 2: long leg right) so the vertical seams where corner pieces meet flat ledger panels are staggered naturally across the wall.
Is Arctic White XL natural stone frost-proof for cold outdoor climates?
Yes, provided corner panels are installed using polymer-modified freeze-thaw rated white mortar, proper wall flashing to prevent water pooling behind the stone, and an exterior penetrating stone sealer.
